Nate Crowley is a straightforward, no-B.S. defense lawyer passionate about protecting people accused of crimes. Nate has taken 60 criminal defense cases to trial in just 10 years — a demonstration of personal dedication and courtroom expertise rarely matched by other law firms in the San Diego area.
Nate has successfully represented clients on all levels and types of felony cases and trained new lawyers in defender offices. Nate serves people who have been accused of all kinds of offenses, from white-collar crimes and financial fraud to major felonies such as drug trafficking, conspiracy, manslaughter, and murder. Whatever you are going through, chances are he has “been there” … with another client who felt stuck in a situation as desperate and supposedly hopeless as yours.
Defense Lawyer Nate Crowley has a proven record of success in practicing Federal Criminal Defense, State Court Criminal Defense, and Immigration Defense. You can check out his most recent court results here.
Each case is dealt with on a one-on-one basis. No stone is left unturned. Unlike in a larger legal defense firm, no client is pawned off to a junior colleague or left on a desk in a pile of files to be ignored. Nate’s calm manner instills confidence in even the most anxious of clients, who know that their defense attorney truly wants the best for them.
Clients of Nate Crowley feel heard. His performance as both a public defender and trial lawyer reflects hundreds of positive outcomes working with people from all walks of life. Nate offers clients respect and a doom-proof attitude from the first consultation to the courtroom.
This savvy, and affordable defense attorney has a knack for dealing with bureaucracy. He instills confidence in his clients by offering them fair prices, a knack for dealing with bureaucracy, and the benefit of the doubt. Believing that the law is there to serve, rather than oppress the accused, Nate can help those who feel ghosted by the system; who feel brow-beaten and diminished by the endless paperwork and “jumping through hoops” that is often required for a defendent’s case to be seen at all.
Nate started this firm in 2021 after 7 years as a public defender. Nate’s wife, immigration lawyer, Tracy Crowley worked for several years at the firm, when it was called Crowley and Crowley, LLP. Tracy joined a non-profit (Immigrant Defenders Law Center) so the firm name has changed from Crowley and Crowley LLP to Nate Crowley Law Office, PC.
To quote Nate:
“This firm was intentionally established to stand out from the others in town. This firm is deliberately unpretentious, trial-focused, content to remain a small operation. It prioritizes our clients’ outcomes above all else. I am tired of lawyers’ ”tough guy act” and we all know flashy website images and unnecessary frills don’t contribute to better courtroom results.”
Nate was trained in trial skills at the nationally renowned Colorado State Public Defender system. He learned the “Colorado method” of jury selection and the chapter method of cross examination from some of its creators at the State Public Defender.
Nate was born and raised in San Diego, and earned his bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of California, Riverside, and his Juris Doctorate at the University of San Diego School of Law. He additionally holds a degree in accounting. Prior to law school, Nate worked as a financial analyst at the investment bank at JP Morgan.
Nate Crowley is licensed to practice law in Colorado (bar #47593), California (bar #330755), and Alaska (bar: 20202014.)
